Rotation Compatibility Mode
Rotation compatibility mode can help resolve playback issues with rotated videos on Amazon's Fire TV or Fire TV Stick related devices (including Amazon Signage Stick - if you come across this issue). This also includes Canva content.
Why rotated videos can have playback issues
Fire TV devices are designed for horizontal TV output. Mounting your TV vertically does not automatically rotate the device’s output, which means content sometime needs to be rotated within the app.
Videos can behave differently from images and text because the device may display them using a separate hardware video layer. On some devices, this layer does not follow the same rotation as the rest of the content. As a result, videos may display incorrectly even when the surrounding layout looks right.
Rotation compatibility mode can help with these rotation-related playback issues.
When to use Rotation compatibility mode
Turn this setting on if videos are not playing correctly on a rotated or vertical screen using a Fire TV device.
If you encounter the same issue on an Amazon Signage Stick, you can also try this setting on the affected screen.
How to turn Rotation compatibility mode on
Before you begin, update the Juuno app on your Fire TV or Fire TV Stick to the latest version.
Go to Screens in the app.
Select the screen experiencing the playback issue.
In Screen Settings, scroll to the Advanced section.
Turn on Rotation compatibility mode.
Test the affected video or Canva content again on your display.
